826LA: Personal Statement Weekend 2017

Personal Statement Weekend is an integral facet of 826LA’s In-Schools programming. Each year, 826LA holds a dedicated weekend for over 200 students to complete their college application essays, culling from their experiences to stand out through their writing. 826LA campaigns for this event annually via email, posters and flyers in LAUSD schools, and creates a simple website for both students and volunteers to get the information they need.

Through color blocking and simple iconography, we appealed to the high school seniors we want at this event—but were clear and informative for 826LA volunteers as well. Information is divided clearly and succinctly to get the students the information they need, and ultimately to visit the website to sign up. Colors allude to fall and make the campaign stand out on a high school campus. Check out photos from the event here.
